The Koutoubia Gardens and the views of the minaret are completely free and open to everyone. The mosque interior is an active place of worship and is not open to tourists.

The mosque interior is reserved for Muslims at prayer. Non-Muslim visitors are welcome to explore the gardens, photograph the exterior, and join a guided walking tour.
Other costs to budget for
Beyond the free gardens, a few optional extras are available in the area — prices vary, so agree on one before you accept:
- Guided walking tour of the Koutoubia and nearby landmarks
- Horse-drawn carriage ride (calèche) from the mosque to the Medina
- Mint tea or a meal at a nearby café
- Purchases from the souks and artisan shops near Jemaa el-Fnaa
